Julian Quentin

Lecturer Film & Camera Acting

I live and work as an acting teacher and director in Cologne and Zurich. In addition to my five-year studies in scenic film direction at KHM in Cologne, I have expanded my knowledge in Meisner technique, Method Acting, and other acting methods through numerous further training courses in Germany and abroad.

In the industry, I produce commercials and music videos for various companies, as well as my own fictional projects, which have been showcased internationally, including at the Frameline Festival in San Francisco (USA), Raindance Film Festival (UK), and Goethe-Institut Shanghai (CN). My directing work has been awarded several times, including the Innovation Prize of the Saarland Broadcasting Corporation in 2023 (DE) and the Lucerne Nachwuchsfilmpreise in 2017 and 2018 (CH).

Through the numerous productions I have been responsible for, I have developed a deep understanding of acting, both in front of and behind the camera. I particularly focus on a psychological and substantive understanding of the characters and an immediate, authentic experience.

For the past three years, I have been teaching Film and Camera Acting at DAS and conducting their showreel productions. Here, I bring my knowledge, experience, and perspective from the industry to help students grow and prepare them for the professional world.
